Definition of a PPG

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients and GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experience to improve the service.

Aims of the PPG

  • To act as a voice for the patients registered at The Park Medical Practice
  • Support and help shape the practice with new initiatives and projects, where appropriate
  • Help promote self-help within the wider community
  • Be a critical friend to the practice
  • Research the views from patient who use the practice
  • Organise health promotion events for the community

The PPG members are invited to attend meetings bi-monthly on a Tuesday evening 7pm – 8pm @ The Borrowash branch site of The Park Medical Practice

Needs of a PPG member

  • Have an email address, so invites and minutes can be sent to you
  • Be an active patient / carer of a patient registered at The Park Medical Practice
  • Be able to attend some of the meetings held throughout the year
  • Make a positive, active contribution to discussions
  • Work in conjunction with the practice, patients, and surgery staff

NEW MEMBERS NEEDED!!

Have you got ideas to help your GP practice? Are you passionate about the NHS? Then join our PPG, your ideas really can make a difference to the Practice

We are looking for more new members to join us. The group is made up of all different people of all ages from all walks of life. We particularly need people in the 20-35 ages range, but everyone is welcome. Are you considering a career within the NHS or Health and Social care. Being part of a PPG can also help with your application.
